On June 27th it was finally time for the opening and the arrival of Padel to TC Maaspoort, in Den Bosch. The opening ceremony was lead by officials from TC Maaspoort with the special participation of two guests: oud-voetballer Gerald Vanenburg and Maxima. Well, not really Maxima. Municipality officer Bert Eigeman impersonated the Dutch princess, bringing a laugh to all visitors.
After a short opening match between officers from the sports association, padelcoach Norberto Nesi and former member of the national football team of The Netherlands and European Cup Champion ’88 Gerald Vanenburg, four padel players (Abel Gilsing, Norberto Nesi, Danny van Vaneveld and former member of the Padel National Team of Chile Sebastian Dobbs) took the central court to play an amateur-level match. Under a bright sun, fifteen padel enthusiasts participated in a clinic given by Norberto Nesi and Abel Gilsing, closing the padel afternoon with a “king of the court” fun competition.
